So it's finally happened... I have boarded the Self Improvement train! And it's actually turning out to be worth the journey.

I'm sure that everyone's version of self improvement is different and as with most things is a personal choice to improve yourself in whatever field interests you. Be that either going to the gym, learning a new language, taking up a new hobby or whatever. The point is that when you fulfill your activity you feel better because of it and you feel that you are (as the new suggests) improving yourself.

For me my self improvement comes in the form of a few daily exercises. The first is Dualingo. Now if you're lucking for a way to learn a new language without any real hassle of major time out of your day then I would highly suggest Dualingo!

For about a month now I've practiced my Dutch and although it's a slow road taking 5 minutes out of my day to run over some words and steadily more complex statements and sentences is well worth it.

My second Improvement comes in the form of brain training. Im sure we all remember Dr. kawashima and his brain training that was around a few years ago, well there's a mobile app named Luminosity that both me and my fiance have taken to which challenges you with a few simple puzzles a day which are aimed at get your brain engaged with problem solving, speed, memory, etc and aims to help improve your brain with daily exercise.

Its actually quite fun and similar to Dualingo for an investment of a few minutes a day while you're on the loo or eating dinner it's worth it.

Now my third form of self improvement is something I haven't quite started yet but am looking to over the coming week. Meditation.

I used to meditate when I was younger however with the busyness of day to day life it can be very difficult to find the time to clear your mind. Just to be clear I don't sit on a mat and make funny noises for hours on end, Im talking about just sitting in as quite place as possible for 5-10 minutes a day and using some exercise to clear your mind of everything. For me meditation helps me to focus and more than anything it gives me perspective on a lot of my day to day worries and help concentrate on what's really important.

If you're interested in that then I'd strongly recommend giving meditation a try and giving a quick Google to search to look at some exercise and way to get the most from it.

And that's it! That's my self improvement hype. It's not much but these 3 simple little activities are what I use (or will use) to help me feel better about myself and are how I am improving myself. I'm by no means an expert at any of them but Im getting better and that's the point!

If you're interested in getting started with some self improvement activities then Id love to hear from you but until then I'll speak to you soon
